Fabulously frilly and a big fat checkbook
All a girl needs to show off her great taste, girly side and serious sense of style are these two pieces. Now I’m not much for lace or doilies. I’d love an old victorian house, but only if it were Guggenheim white inside with concrete floors. You’ve gotta juxtapose the old stuff to please this girl, and these sculptural masterpieces are all about that singular sensibility.
The Murano Glass Chandelier at DWR - me love you long time. The thing’s been sitting in a draft in my back-end (my WordPress back-end) for months. Though original I am, loved by many this chandelier is. Leah Online and her fab fans agree - this chandelier is design gone wild. A piece like this one might get lost in the dimly lit, drapery heavy, gothic bordello you might imagine finding it in, but hang it amidst a very contemporary backdrop of clean lines, right angles and wide open spaces, and suddenly you’ve got yourself a dazzling, dangling bit of light fixture eye candy. Produced in Italy on the island of Murano, this luminous and luxurious glass delicacy is required in my someday-entryway.
This post is all about wow and daaaaamnnn and serious lustliciousness, and the Crochet Table is so all of these things. Designed by Marcel Wanders of the Netherlands’ moooi, the Crochet Table is made of crocheted cotton and hardened with epoxy resin. Such a killer concept and beautifully designed, this piece brightens the room with a soft tactile material not usually found on furniture surfaces. The elegant white cotton is shaped in a kinda floral, kinda stained-glass pattern that’s luxurious and very unique. A sure conversation piece, this table will always be interesting to look at and live with. Move in with me - I’ll treat you right, I swear!
