I just got to know Jonathan Adler…
…by reading his about page. A great example of how following one’s heart leads to success.
Returned home Sunday evening, unloaded and recapped the very nice time we had - read a lot, relaxed, ate some good food. Yesterday I was faced with the end-of-vacation blues big time. I mean, Mondays already suck anyway - but having been watching the waves less than 24 hours earlier, and then finding myself at my desk, that’s not cool.
So today still in beach-mode, I came across the Menagerie Fish and the Relief Urchin Candlestick Holder Set by eclectic artist, Jonathan Adler. Both perfect accessories for a beach house, or any down by the sea themed room. I especially love the Fish. They’re great looking sculptures made with exaggerated curved lines in a beautiful white glaze. Cool fresh contrast pieces.
The Menagerie Large and Small White Fish and the Candlestick Holder Set are both currently on sale at Velocity Art and Design, a great store out of Seattle, as are select other pieces by Adler. Straying from the beach theme are these Reform Temple Vases, also on sale, which are glazed partially with a gloss and the other half in a matte finish creating some great texture contrasts.
Check out Jonathan Adler’s Manifesto to get a better idea of where this guy’s coming from. It’s thoughtful, silly, motivated by an honest dedication to design and right up my alley.

So great to know about JD Madison here in Portland - I’ll definitely go check out Jonathan Adler’s furniture collection in person. Stunning very clean lined designs. I particularly love the Dove-White Desmond Screen - beautiful!

Love, love, your blog. You have many fabulous products that I am adding to my wish list. I am also a devout Jonathan Adler fan. I agree that JA is an inspiration . I’m looking forward to visiting the Parker Palm Springs, a Palm Springs resort designed by Jonathan Adler.
