Here’s lookin’ at you, Becca!
Back online after a fun weekend celebrating the accomplishments of a fabulous person - my sister graduated from high school - Congratulations Becca!
I’ve been saving the Becca Stool for this occasion. They share a name and (almost) coincidentally both she and this stool are captivating, stylish, gently curved and naturally beautiful.
The Becca Stool is the creation of Adapt Design, founded by California College of Arts and Crafts grad Anthony Marschak. His attention to craftsmanship and commitment to sustainable, eco-aware and intelligent design are evident in this versatile stool. Made of two bent planes of gorgeous warm-toned bamboo strips, this minimalist piece, elegant in appearance, is also mindfully constructed.
Treehugger dotes on the material, calling it the “wonder plant” and informed me that bamboo, “yields 20x higher than wood, can be harvested without killing the plant nor harming the topsoil, and is 2-3x stronger than normal wood”.
Useful as a stool, side table, and modern stackable storage, the Becca Stool, not unlike my sister, is clever, unique and charming in a variety of settings and situations.
Way to go Bec - Dream big, dream always!
