Liselotte Watkins does rugs!
Alright, so I don’t usually post about stuff that can’t be purchased with a few simple clicks and a credit card, but I loved these rugs so much that I just had to talk about them.
Mentioned at Cool Hunting yesterday are new rug designs (right) by Swedish fashion illustrator Liselotte Watkins and man are they gorgeous! So why is a rug by Liselotte so fantastic? Because all of her designs are fantastic!
She has designed product ads for such clients as MAC Cosmetics, Umberto Giannini, Mira Mikati and Absolut. Her drawings have been featured in Vogue, Elle, Glamour, Mademoiselle, Wallpaper* and others. Also incredibly cool, Liselotte did the CD cover and 2 videos for The Concretes most recent album. Liselotte Watkins puts so much style and personality into her drawings. Of a series of illustrations she refers to as her girls (some pictured) she says, “They’re all people to me.” She creates original characters or environments and infuses spirited emotion in every one of her drawings. Fortunately she has used the same sensibility and trademark flowing lines for these new rug designs.
