It took a long weekend of over-inspiration and hyper-motivation at SXSWi and a reread of Bruce Mau’s Manifesto (see #9 for title relevance) to get entry numero uno flowing from my fingers, but I’ve begun, and experience says that’s half the battle.
This is the beginning of a blog written by a girl who’s been rearranging her room - dorm - apartment about once every three months since she was strong enough to push her dresser across the room using the wall for support, two bare feet, gritted teeth and some serious determination to change her surroundings.
It’s an undeniable obsession of mine to seek-out, evaluate, and lust after all things that could make a living space more organized, comfortable, gorgeous, useable, eclectic, modern, funky, friendly, or personalized.
I self-proclaimed myself an ambiance engineer a year or two ago and my friends rightfully proclaimed my dorkiness (while pointing and laughing - damn them!). But for all intents and purposes, I consider it a fitting title. I get off on good design. I over analyze the “whys” of aesthetic. I truly lust after furniture, flooring, faucets and fabrics.
Ironically it’s for those endearingly critical friends that LoftLust has begun, making their quest to be cool like me much more accessible. So for you dear friends, scattered across the globe, here begins an ongoing rant, review, recommendation, ramble, resource about some of the best stuff out their for your (wannabe) urban dwelling.
