The water made me wistful

symphony wicker chair and ottomanI just got back from dinner at a place out on Lake Travis. The weather’s been gorgeous and it ended up being a perfect night for tex-mex on a patio overlooking the water.

Was noticing the boats go by and thinking to myself how nice it was, but then under the surface it did seem a little strange that all these people were gathered, paying a little bit more for their food that was a bit less than scrumptous, just so they could witness the sun setting over a large hole of water. Got me wondering why we were all so drawn to the water. I guess there’s just something soothing about it, cleansing etc. It sounds comforting, the wind makes it splash and move - it sparkles. It’s just nice to look at. And the 75ish temp with cool breeze - not too shabby either.

All this enjoying the weather got me wanting to be outside on my own patio with a good book, an iced coffee and some sunglasses (it is Texas after all). So that’s my plan for this weekend - the iBook will likely make it’s way outside as well.

Though I’ll be on my 5 year old papasan (with a new cushion! -the bf.). I’ll just pretend I’m on one of these pieces from the Symphony collection at Allegro Classics. Pictured is the Barrel Back chair and Ottoman. There’s also a coffee table that I really adore and a nice looking loveseat. They come in two shades of all weather wicker with several great durable fabrics to choose from. I’m leaning toward the Parrott swatch - I’ve got some new shoes that color and green and I, well, we go well together.

Maybe I ought to change that iced coffee to a daiquiri. I’m feeling tropical now!
